Reading for Fun!

Here are the books I've read in the last couple of months. They were all decent reads, but The Help is still ranked as my #1 recent read.

This is a looooong novel that takes place near Seatle. It exposes the drama of three sisters who lost their mother when they were young. It is full of jealousy, passion and mystery. If the story were condensed, it would have been more of a gripping page turner.

This is a charming post WW2 novel. The main character reminded me of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Her letters to the people of Guernsey and her love of reading drew me in immediately.

This is a dark, dark novel set in the late 1800s. It is full of surprises and sexual repression. It has gotten polarizing reviews. Personally, I think I knew too much about it before I read it and a few big parts were spoiled. :(

Despite the title and cover, when I began this book I thought it was a light hearted lovey dovey beach read. Suddenly this book became creepier and creepier.... I had to know where the story would go! This novel would make a very good, suspenseful movie.
